A Winter Meditation for Your Immune System

I know it sounds crazy, but have you thanked your immune system today? It’s working REALLY hard this time of year.

My two daughters and I have COVID right now, and let me tell you, it’s not fun!

The fever, headache, body aches, runny nose, coughing, and overall fatigue got me thinking about our immune systems.

Your immune system is an amazing and intricate powerhouse with many unique ways to protect you from all that lurks around.   

There are T cells and B cells, a Rapid Response TeamSpecialized Weapons, and Tailored Defense, not to mention the Memory Cells that form to help it “remember” the specific antigens it has just encountered. It’s quite impressive, indeed!

But, what does any of this have to do with cancer, yoga, or meditation (which is why you’re here, I know!)

If you meditate today, I encourage you to take a moment to thank your immune system. Imagine what it looks like…imagine how it’s moving in your body….imagine how strong and powerful it is.

As you breathe slowly and deeply, paint the most gorgeous vision of your immune system you can.

Allow your shoulders to fall away from your ears and your jaw to soften. Fill your lungs with such a deep breath that your belly expands.

Now, send your immune system so much love that you can’t help but smile as you imagine. I promise it feels good. :)
